Powered Mowing was founded by the then 14-year-old Ben. With some free time on his hands, he wanted to do something meaningful and learn a bit about being an entrepreneur. Lawn mowing was an obvious choice: easy to start, no license needed, and a great way to meet people in the community while learning real-world skills.

From the very beginning, we treated it as a proper business, not a hobby. Ben got his ABN and insurance, and started posting in local Facebook groups. People loved the idea, and soon the requests started rolling in. At first, Dad/Zoli just drove him to the jobs and lent a hand with equipment, however after a while the jobs grew too big for one person, so Powered Mowing became a proper family business: Ben handles client relations, scheduling, quotes, Dad can do literally anything, he’s a real handyman and always knows the solutions … and behind the scenes, Mum takes on the financials and admin.

We take pride in what we do: every garden gets the attention it deserves, and seeing a happy client never gets old. Along the way, Ben has learned heaps about being an entrepreneur, communication, and customer relationship care. Customers tell us they appreciate our hard work, reliability, and attention to detail and in return we love that our family venture can make such a difference.

It’s better for the environment: less fuel, less emissions, and a smaller footprint because we want to keep our streets and air clean for everyone.

The battery-operated lawnmower is quieter too, so we don’t disturb you, your family, or your neighbours while getting the job done. It may take a little bit longer to finish with a garden as fuel operated equipment have more horsepower, but that’s a trade-off we’re happy to make. At the end of the day, it’s all about doing our jobs properly and responsibly because we really do care about our environment and our community.
